A few thoughts on AI and the hype around it:

For many years, some people insisted that Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) works, while others said it doesn’t. And now, we are all doing exactly that: programming artificial brains using words to achieve the results we need.

Arthur C. Clarke said: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” From the perspective of modern AI, magic spells are a set of well-optimized prompts executed on an as-yet unknown engine. In other words, the emergence of such technology is a matter of the near future. We just need to integrate modern AI into Siri and other “voice assistants” and add controls for various things, and that’s it - pure magic!"
